El Rancho Brewing Company

About

Well, we like to sum it up this way: Views, Brews, Barbecue, and Altitude! …and we’ve got a fantastically historic building too, but we haven’t found a way to make that rhyme. But seriously…we’ve got great food. We have AMAZING barbecue. We make our own brews. And we happen to have a front-row seat to one of the most-photographed panoramic views in all of Colorado. So if kicking back and enjoying a drink and some munchies while enjoying a gorgeous view is your kind of thing, you’ll love it here; because that’s precisely our kind of thing too! …and did we mention you can bring your dog? Our patio is dog-friendly (and open year-round, weather permitting).

Location Description

El Rancho is conveniently located approximately 25 minutes outside of Denver off of I-70 at the Evergreen Parkway exit (or the El Rancho exit if you’re coming from the west). We are located just behind the First Bank on the southwest corner just as you exit the highway.

History

El Rancho was built in 1948 by the Jahnke family as a trading post. They sold the building in November 1953, to a family that kept it until 1988. The historic building was owned and operated by various families until May of 2015, when the Vincent family took over; and, after a huge renovation, opened El Rancho as a brew pub in November of 2015.

The updated El Rancho is dedicated to serving the community as a gathering place, preparing tasty meals, producing quality craft beer, and keeping Colorado great.

Practices & Techniques

All of El Rancho’s beer is brewed on-site, either as a large batch (10 barrels/310 gallons), or a small batch (about 10 gallons). Our large batches tend to be slightly more traditional styles of beer, such as blonde ales, IPAs, stouts, scotch ales, saisons, and the occasional lager. We experiment with our small batches and get a bit more free-spirited: sour ales, mixed fermentation ales, numerous IPAs, single-hop or yeast variations on a theme, and historic ales like our Norwegian farmhouse ale or German gose.

When folks like how a small batch turns out, we scale it up so everyone can enjoy it more often and we can keep it on tap a little longer. Every so often, we’ll pull some special stuff out of our fledgling barrel program to share.

We take our beer seriously, and work hard to provide you with the best flavor we can; by carefully growing and monitoring our yeasts, carefully selecting the best hops, and making sure we can always provide you with unique, refreshing, and delicious ales and lagers of the highest quality.

Cheers!
